About me:

A woman with short hair, glasses, and a floral shirt, smiling and holding a large wooden platter of sliced roast beef surrounded by cherry tomatoes, greens, and vegetables in a kitchen.

Hi, I'm Lorene.

I was raised at the Sunday dinner table.

Every Sunday of my childhood was spent with the whole family crowded around a pasta dish big enough to feed the neighborhood, sauce simmering since morning. I didn't know it then, but that table was teaching me that there was no greater joy than preparing and sharing a meal with the ones you love.

That lesson followed me straight to Johnson & Wales University, where I learned classic culinary technique, although I never did master the art of baking. Armed with lots of ideas and somewhat decent knife skills, I spent the next decade building and cooking at some amazing restaurants, including three of my own.

Plot twist! I traded the kitchen for the nonprofit world and became a certified asthma educator, spending my days helping people breathe easier and sharing how food can help people living with chronic illness. I’ve been so blessed to have two rewarding careers that I am passionate about.

Eventually, I found my way back to the professional kitchen.

My food philosophy? Elegant, never pretentious. Charcuterie is often called an art form, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be accessible for all and fun.

At the end of the day, I want everyone to feel the same love and belonging I did at the Sunday dinner table. Buon appetito!
